Yongyang Special Steel helps Hebei Province Development and Reform Commission and Shanghai University strategic cooperation with the Shanghai Institute of high-quality steel technology joint research and development centre

In early September, Hebei Yongyang Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. was invited to witness the signing ceremony of the strategic co-operation agreement between Hebei Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Shanghai University and Shanghai University (Zhejiang) Institute of Materials Research for High-end Equipment Infrastructure (referred to as Shangshanyuan) together with six well-known enterprises in the province, including Longfengshan Casting, Baigong Iron & Steel, Ji'nan Iron & Steel, Ausen Special Steel, and Shengcai Iron & Steel.

Mr. Du Qingshen, Chairman of Yongyang Special Steel Group, as a special guest, and Dong Han, Dean of the School of Materials of Shanghai University and President of Shangshanyuan, jointly unveiled the plaque for the "Joint Research and Development Centre for High Quality Steel Technology" jointly built by Yongyang Special Steel and Shangshanyuan.

At the meeting, the participating leaders, industry experts and business representatives had a cordial talk, and explored and discussed metallurgical technology innovation and research. After the meeting, SIAS and other steel enterprises attending the event signed a contract to deepen technical cooperation and jointly inject new vitality and power to promote the development of China's steel industry and technological innovation.

Yongyang Special Steel is a special steel enterprise led by the production of alloy structural steel, spring steel, high-quality carbon structural steel. With the first domestic universal rolling mill light rail production line, the first core equipment national production of universal rolling mill heavy rail production line, the first high-quality special steel production line and other core equipment, rail steel accounted for more than 70 per cent of the national market share, fork flat steel accounted for more than 65 per cent of the national market share. The products are widely used in automobiles, machinery manufacturing, metallurgy and petrochemicals, mineral mining, nuclear power engineering and important harbours and terminals, and important military facilities, and are sold all over the country and Southeast Asia.

Shangshanyuan Institute is a high-level innovation carrier jointly built by Shanghai University and the People's Government of Jiashan County, Xi'an Province, which has been assessed as Jiaxing Key Laboratory (Class A), Municipal New R&D Institutions, Provincial New R&D Institutions, and China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) "Sci-Creation in China" Engine Special Materials Innovation Base. In recent years, SSI has made significant breakthroughs in the research of high-quality special steel, special alloy steel, high-end special steel, and ultra-pure metal materials. The scientific research results of SSSI have a great fit with Yongyang Special Steel and even Yongnian fastener industry.

Since the establishment of "Shanghai University-Yongyang Special Steel High-quality Steel Technology Joint Research and Development Centre" in August 2023, the two sides have made great breakthroughs in the key core technologies of the industry through in-depth cooperation in the areas of resource sharing and talent coeducation. The inauguration of the joint R&D centre for high-quality steel section technology with SIU will further help Yongyang Special Steel to achieve faster and better development in industrial optimization and upgrading, and high-quality steel section research and development.

In the symposium session, Du Qingshen, chairman of Yongyang Special Steel, said that Shanghai University, especially the team of President Dong Han, has given great support to our enterprise, and Hebei Province has also given great support to our enterprise. Yongyang Special Steel will continue to work hard, relying on the scientific and technological talents of Shanghai University, to carry out all-round cooperation in strategic decision-making consulting, scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation, talent exchange and cultivation, new materials and new product development, etc., to comply with the national requirements for the high-quality development of iron and steel enterprises, to improve the quality of products, and to do a good job, to be strong and to be bigger.
